I heard Chris Biggs speak at Big Fish Deal. After being thoroughly captivated and entertained I reached out to Chris to see if he would be able to speak at the North Jersey Aquarium Society. Recently, Chris came to NJAS where he presented his “Mad Aquarist” talk for the club. Everyone was blown away. Chris did a great job.He is both thoroughly entertaining and considerably knowledgeable. He is unique that he appealed to both new hobbyists and seasoned vets. As the president of NJAS, I can’t recommend Chris and his “Mad Aquarist” talk more.

My name is Scott J Mclaughlin and I am the speaker chair for the American Cichlid Association. It gives
me great pleasure to talk about Chris Biggs.

I first saw Chris speak at the Big Fish Deal in 2015 run by the tropical fish club “Capital Cichlids”. It is a large event run yearly that is attended by over a thousand tropical fish fans. Chris did 2 talks. Both of the talks were entertaining and informative- 2 ingredients that are important to any good presentation.

It was after seeing those 2 presentations that I spoke to Chris and asked him to join the ACA speaker program. Part of my job as speaker chair is to find new and exciting talent that will speak at various tropical fish clubs and events to educate and inspire hobbyist young and old. Chris has a talent in being able to engage his audience in a manner where they are entertained while being taught important information that will make them successful hobbyist. This in turn makes the hobby industry successful as a whole. I have since attended various events and tropical fish clubs where Chris has done presentations. His talks are always new and changing constantly.

One component that doesn’t change is Chris ability to fill an event with hobbyist eager to listen to him. I can
personally tell you we booked Chris for our banquet event called the Keystone Clash, which is a local
event in our area. The banquet was sold out this year - the first time this has ever happened in our 6
year history. Chris can draw a crowd like none other. I would certainly recommend Chris to speak at
“ANY” tropical fish event. His knowledge of all tropical fish is vast and impressive.
